From the inland landscapes to the coastal seascapes and the many inlets, coves, ponds and, lakes, rivers, harbours, bays and, mountains, fjords, Newfoundland Labrador is a photographers haven. With an abundance of photographic opportunities it would take a life time to experience what the province has to offer. For every road you travel and every turn you take, something new will always appear in front of your camera for you to capture.

With the island as his canvas, Frank V Hollahan has embraced his love of photography with an artistic background to put together a collection of his work. A native Newfoundlander and self taught photographer, Frank's love for photography was inspired at an early age when he built his first camera. From then his passion for everything artistic has grown into this collection.

Frank's photography focuses most of his work on his life's passion of the land and sea of Newfoundland Labrador. In his collection are works inspired by the natural rugged beauty the island offers and other pieces of art that caught his eye.

I asked Frank what his biggest inspiration was and he said, "The love for the art, determination and criticism". Frank shoots single exposures and maintains a workflow with basic software adjustments to produce his images and preserve the natural look and feel of the scene at the time of capture.

Frank's work is on display and can be viewed at The State of the Arts Gallery and the Ewing Gallery. Both galleries are located in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.

The Frank Vernon Collection is currently updating it's gallery, so do check back again to browse and view new images.
